Description

This one day workshop provides a great opportunity to focus on your online visibility, and is ideal for those who are setting up an online presence, or currently have some presence online but aren't sure what to do next.

This workshop covers how to manage your online reputation and will help you get to grips with social media and online platforms. It also looks at your conversations and communications online and how they connect with the offline (real) world, along with starting a digital marketing strategy to move forwards with. We will also look at why finding out about your target audiences is key to success online.

By the end of this workshop you will...

  • Understand the different online marketing options
  • Find out why audiences are important to online engagement
  • Know how to make yourself easier to find
  • Learn strategies to connect with existing customers and find new ones
  • Start a draft digital marketing strategy for you/your organisation
  • How to use free and low-cost tools to make social medial simple.

Tutor: Liz Hardwick

Liz is Co-Founder of DigiEnable, a Digital Training & SEO Services Company. She designs and delivers tech-based and online marketing workshops, and regularly speaks at conferences and events across the UK, recently being listed in the Techworld's 111 UK Tech Women Speakers. Previous workshops and talks have covered a variety of subjects around Digital Inclusion, utilising technologies for business and Women in Tech.

Liz’s background is in broadcasting, having also spent a number of years creating media for a number of charities; she is an advocate of open source technologies and is an active board member of BECTU and Digital Lancashire.

She’s passionate about making her clients the online experts in their niche and help them develop the type of content that will drive more customers to their websites. Liz has won a variety of awards for her work, including the prestigious Digital Leaders UK award in 2014. She also loves meeting fellow entrepreneurs, tweeting as @Tech_Geek_Girl and supporting other women in(to) Tech.

Cost: BECTU members £90.00, non BECTU members £125.00

Cancellation policy

We appreciate that when circumstances change you may no longer be able to attend a training course you have already booked and paid for.

While we will always try our best to accommodate any alterations to your plans, the BECTU sector of Prospect has a standard cancellation policy which is as follows:

Individual bookings

  • If you notify us by phone or email at least seven full days before the scheduled course date, you will not be charged and will be refunded in full any course fees you have paid.
  • Cancellations that are less than seven full days before the course date will be charged at 50% of the total course fee, with 50% refunded. This is unless you can demonstrate extenuating circumstances.
  • If you do not attend the course and/or fail to notify us in advance, you will be charged the full course fee.
  • If you notify us by phone or email up to three days in advance of the course that you can no longer make the booked training, we can transfer you once to another course scheduled within the calendar year.
  • We are unable to reimburse any non-transferable travel or accommodation expenses that may arise from a course being rescheduled or cancelled.

Bulk bookings (two or more tickets booked)

  • If you notify us by phone or email at least 14 full days before the scheduled course date, you will not be charged and will be refunded in full any course fees you have paid.
  • For any cancellation you make that is less than 14 full days before the course date, you will be charged 50% of the total course fee, with 50% refunded ­­­­- unless you can demonstrate extenuating circumstances.
  • If you do not attend the course and/or fail to notify us in advance you will be charged the full course fee.
  • If you notify us by phone or email seven days in advance of the course that you can no longer make the booked training, we can transfer you once to another course scheduled within the calendar year.
  • We are unable to reimburse any non-transferable travel or accommodation expenses that may arise from a course being rescheduled or cancelled.

BECTU sector reserves the right to cancel courses without liability. However, where possible, delegates will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
